The Pennines, often referred to as the spine of England, is a series of uplands, hills and mountains that form a natural divide between the North West and Yorkshire and the North East. Stretching around 250 miles, the Pennines span from Northumberland in the north to the Peak District in the south.
The Pennines offer stunning scenery from the beautiful valleys and dales that break up the hills to moorlands, peatlands, meadows, rivers and woodland. From discovering quaint villages and bustling towns, to following in the footsteps of the Brontë sisters, to enjoying long walks in nature, there is plenty to enjoy.
